The NDS is in a Oval Shape and it looks like a PSP.
THe NDS Lite has better graphics and brightness
THe NDSi has no Dual GBA slot but has bbetter graphics
the ds is a fat one… the mic is in a different location… its not a great location for the mic…. the ds lite is slimmer the mic has been moved and its able to play gameboy advance just like the regular DS… the DSI has a memory card slot, and a camera, and is a little bigger then the ds lite…. the DSI is the most expensive one now… the fat DS is about 80ish used, the ds lite is about 100-110 used and 130 new, the dsi has not come out yet and will be set at 170ish….the ds has like a few colors, the ds lite has alot of colors, and the dsi comes in only 2 colors excluding the japanese ones… the colors are different cause they try to appeal to everyone… depends on what color ya like or if you like limited editon ones….

for the dsi please click on the link
well sorry but i dont know all the details but il tell you this:
if you play gba games and still want to play them, get the ds lite.
if you want a dsi, it has a camera(VERY cheap and graphics suck, its like a regular cellphone camera) built in it.
but if you dont care about gba games, then get the dsi.
Here’s one of my previous answers:

That should clear it up in a nut shell.
the ds is a big oval shape thing
the ds lite is better graphic got gba slot , pitochat lot lots more in it.
The dsi is like ds lite without gba slot (crap if you got pokemon d/p/pt) got in it camra ,diarys.
So, since nobody else has given a good answer, here you go!
The DS (regular) is the original model that came out in 2004 and is also the biggest. However, since it is the oldest, you can pick them up considerable cheaper than the others. $80 used at Gamestop.
The DS Lite is the remodel and is about 20% smaller and lighter, and has a brighter screen with adjustable brightness levels. It’s a common misconception that is has better graphics than the original, but this is completely untrue. All three models have the exact same graphic technology. They cost $130 new.
The DSi is the newest remodel and is about the same size as the Lite, maybe a little smaller, but not noticeable. The big perk here is that it has a built in camera and web browser, but DOES NOT contain a GBA slot. Instead, it has a slot for an SD card to store your pictures and internet data on. With the DSi you will also be able to connect to Nintendo’s online service and download specially made games that are only available by doing so. When it is released it will sell for $170.
As for the colors, that just has to do with the inventory of the store. It will be different pretty much everywhere you go.
Hope I helped!
The DS lite has brighter screens, brighter color, easier stylus access and longer battery life than the older DS. It has a gba slot and weighs slightly less than the older DS.
The DSi has no gba slot but has a built in camera, a web browser, an SD memory card slot and a downloadable game service over Nintendo Wi-fi
The older, larger model is discontinued and improved upon by the newer models, don’t worry about this one but for those of you interested you can find them used at pawnshops or video game stores for cheap.
Well, the original DS is just the plain one
DS lite is just slimmer, liter, and more rectangular
DSi looks like a Ds lite but is even more slimmer, liter and has a bigger screen. It has a webcam, a music player, new menu ( including ds store where you can download apps and games), and a micro sd slot. But you cant play gba games anymore
The DS is the original DS. (Also known as a DS Fat.)
It’s rather bulky, clunky, and from what I have been told, the touch screen wore out rather quickly.
The DS Lite is the revamped DS. It’s a lot slimmer and comes in a few more colors and overall improved from the original.
The DSi is the newest DS. I can’t tell you much about it except that it has a camera and better graphics.

At this point in time, there are no other DS systems that I am aware of, esp considering the DSi is the newest (in fact it’s brand new, I’m not even sure it’s hit stores yet).
The colors are a marketing technique, more colors appeal to more people. I’m not sure of the other systems, but the DS Lite comes in Black, White, Pink, Red/Onyx, Baby Blue, and Zelda Gold. (The last two are/were limited edition, the red one WAS limited edition, but now you can buy it by itself.)

For advice, I definitely recommend the DS Lite. It’s what I have and I love it. The main reason I bought it was because it plays both GBA and DS games. Meaning, I wouldn’t have to hang onto my GBA to play all my games. It also means I have more options when it comes to make purchases.
The normal DS was made at 2004, it is very fat hard to take with you from place to place, the pen is small. And doesnt have THAT much light. The DS Lite has a lot of light (of course) and is smaller easier to take with you from place to place. If you keep it on the smallest brightness it goes up to 15-19 hours! THE DSi looks exactly like the DS Lite but has 2 cameras which you can add special effects to pictures (that i will love) a microphone to record up to 18, 10 seconds long, audio recordings! You can make your voice higher, slower, faster, lower with the special effects! You can buy items from the DSi Shop, there are Free items, 200 points, 600 points, 800 points or +, the screen of the DSi is %8 bigger than the DS lite, so from 3.0 inches to 3.25 inches, and the pen is slightly longer. I own a DS and a DS Lite and i want a DSi. If i were you i d get DSi. It is so much cooler than them all mixed together! So wait until April 5th, 2009, and get the DSi for $169.99! If you want to see the diffrence from the DS Lite and the DSi please look at amazon.com for more information about the DSi and the trailer watch the long one (2 min 59 sec) and you will learn, mostly what i said.
The DS: Chunkier , bad graphics , old fashioned and heavier to lug around with you
The DS Light: Better graphics than the DS , easy to carry and come in alot of colours , lets you have wifi.
The DSi: Best graphics overall , Built in camera and wifi , slimmer , bigger screens , online Nintendo shop where you can buy ds games from there and download to your DS , better games just for the DSi and much more
