I’ve seen somebody with a thing that looks like a nintendo DS game pack, but it has a micro SD card in it. What does it do, how does it work, and where can I get one?
Most full explanation gets the best answer.
Thanks in advance.

You are referring to a emulation cartridge. The most popular of them are named: M3 Real and R4DS. They allow you to illegally download roms, put the rom on the micro SD card, then insert it into the emulation cart and play them off of the micro SD card. You may Google and purchase one if you want, but I prefer paying for the games I enjoy rather than stealing them.
A .rom (Read Only Memory) file is an image/copy of a game or program to be run in an emulator.
An emulator is a hardware of software device/program that enables you to play images of games.
