Derek Tomlin asked:

Donkey Kong

Developed by the gaming giant Nintendo in the 1980s, Donkey Kong was one of the first multi-screen arcade games. Since its release, it has been one of the most famous video games of all-time. It can be termed as the basis for the platform genre of video games. The game of Donkey Kong was developed by Shigeru Miyamoto along with Gunpei Yokoi. The game maneuvers the main character over many obstacles while crossing a series of platforms. The later versions took this platform as the base, and since then have developed many more such games.

The Game

The game of Donkey Kong involves the rescue of a captured girl who has been captured by a hideous monkey (Kong here). The player has to pass through moving steel bars and flying barrels depicting a setting of industrial landscaping. An outright classic game, Donkey Kong is a complete entertainer and can keep one hooked for long hours.

How To Play

The player’s motive is to rescue the girl from the clutches of Donkey Kong who has captured the beautiful girl. For this the player has to face many obstacles by the way of flying barrels and steel bars. Also on the way of rescue, the player has to overcome many obstacles and destroy objects with a hammer power-up. There is the additional need to collect items like hats, purses and parasols that presumably belong to the girl. The player is not only awarded points for the tasks completed but is also awarded with bonus lives and points.

Game Control And Points

There are two variations of the game; A and B. The level A is for beginners while the level B is for the pros and requires additional technique, coordination and timing. The points of the game can be scored at various levels. Initially when the player crosses the girders he gets a point. On reaching the second girder, there are 2 points for each barrel crossed. Similarly cutting the wire which holds the girder on which Donkey Kong is standing, earns 20 points. However, the time elapsed is also taken into consideration and more time taken means lesser points earned. So this pushes the player to play the game fast and earn as many points. The earlier versions of the game were played on machines and joysticks were used to control the characters. Now with online gaming available, this option has been transferred to the keys on the keyboard.

Lauren J. Ronie asked:

One of those classes was cardio kick boxing and I grew to really enjoy it because it helped to make exercise fun and challenging and also interactive. Backup Wii Games Step by Step Guide Click here It was much more enjoyable to me than riding a stationary bike or running on a treadmill and that great thing is it was also much more effective. I definitely got a much better workout during my cardio class then I did on the boring cardio exercise machines.

But then I moved away from NYC to live “out in the country” and out here they don’t have any high priced gyms or any cardio kickboxing classes to go to. Because of that I started buy prescription drugs looking around for an alternative. While looking around for this alternative I kept hearing about how much fun (and how effective) the Wii Fit game is and then someone told me about how it had “rhythm boxing” as one of it’s aerobic exercises. It was then that I started getting really interested.

I looked around for a Wii Fit game but couldn’t find one anywhere. I realized I could only find it online and so I bought it on the internet. Soon I was doing the rhythm boxing myself and sure enough it was just as cool as everyone said it was. I actually find it even more fun than my old class because it keeps track of how well I do and that fits in with my competitive nature. It’s fun to try and beat your own score. It’s also a really great workout. I’ve been noticing the pounds coming off since I got it.

On top of all of that, the Wii Fit game is a lot cheaper than my old gym membership. Think about it. With this game I can use it endlessly all I want forever. With the gym membership I had to keep paying every month. That adds up pretty fast. I think I ended up spending more than $1000 a year just on my gym membership. So yes, I’m very pleased with my new cardio workout: Wii Fit’s rhythm boxing. If you don’t have a gym near you or you don’t like having to travel to the gym to get a good workout then I definitly recommend checking it out. Like I said, I think it’s even better than a class. And it’s also not nearly as expensive.
